Woman: Last year I had implants done on my lower teeth. Of course,
I've always heard about having lower teeth, you know, false
teeth, so I thought, "Oh, I can't stand that." He put in
implants for me.
Dr. Goodman: The implant has just completely revolutionized what we do.
It's allowed us to place a titanium fixture inside where that
tooth used to be and build a tooth on top of it that, when you
look in there, you'd never see it. You can chew with it, you can
floss it. You brush it and treat it just like any other tooth
that you have. It can last your lifetime. In denture cases a lot
of times we use the implants to anchor a restoration. We can
anchor a denture, we can anchor a bridge, we can anchor a single
tooth. They really can be used in several different ways,
depending on the circumstances.
Man: After I had this all done, I've told Dr. Goodman many times, "My,
gosh. Why did I not do this long ago?" It's unbelievable, it
really is.
