Porcelain Crowns: Patient #3
Description
Porcelain Crowns serve to make the teeth of our Kansas City patients both healthier and more attractive (whereas porcelain veneers focus strictly on cosmetic improvement). They are ideal in treating teeth that are cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged. At the practice of John P. Goodman, D.D.S., we offer the full range of restorative dentistry treatments, so you can feel at ease when placing your smile in the hands of our dentist. Dental crowns can be made from different types of material, although the natural look and function of porcelain is generally preferred by our restorative dentist. Dr. Goodman will work with you to determine which type is most appropriate for your needs. Dr. Goodman will first thoroughly clean and prepare the tooth. Impressions are then taken for the lab to utilize this mold to craft your very own dental crown. You are fitted with a tooth colored temporary crown for two weeks until the Porcelain Crown is competed. When the restorations are ready, Dr. Goodman will carefully insert your permanent dental crowns in place of the temporary ones. Extra precautions are taken to ensure that they fit beautifully with your teeth and overall bite.
