Zoom!® In-office vs. GLO Take-home Teeth Whitening
Professional teeth whitening systems are popular because they can quickly and effectively brighten your smile. If you are considering professional teeth whitening, you may wonder which system, an in-office treatment or a take-home kit, is right for you.
Dr. John Goodman offers in-office Zoom!® teeth whitening and GLO take-home kits at his Kansas City, MO practice. To learn more about the difference between these teeth whitening options, read our Zoom! in-office vs. GLO take-home teeth whitening comparison below.
The Benefits of Zoom! Teeth Whitening
The Zoom! system is a teeth whitening system that provides immediately visible results after a single 45-minute treatment. Zoom! chairside treatment lightens teeth eight shades on average and with minimal tooth sensitivity. What’s more, most patients who undergo Zoom! in-office whitening enjoy long-lasting results.
The Zoom! Whitening Procedure
The in-office Zoom! whitening process is relaxing and comfortable. The treatment begins by covering the lips and gums, leaving only tooth enamel exposed.
Next, your dentist will apply the professional-grade whitening gel to the teeth. The bleaching agents in the gel are then activated with a specialized light.
This process is repeated two more times, with about a 15-minute wait between applications. When you leave our office, your teeth will be considerably brighter.
The Benefits of GLO Teeth Whitening
This system combines LED light and warming GLO heat to accelerate the bleaching results for a quick, easy, and efficient at-home whitening.
GLO is clinically proven to whiten teeth by five shades, and without tooth sensitivity. The device can be used for future applications if you need a touch up.
The GLO Take-Home System
After you have charged your GLO control, you will place the lanyard and control over your neck and attach the mouthpiece. Next, you will apply a thin layer of GLO lip care to inside and outside of your lips. The lip care can also be applied to the gums if they are sensitive.
After you are prepped, you will squeeze the bleaching gel onto the attached brush tip and apply a thin layer to your teeth. Lastly, turn on the GLO control and put the mouthpiece in your mouth for eight minutes. (When it is on, the mouth guard lights up blue.)
You will reapply the bleaching gel and wear the mouth guard for eight minutes three more times, for a total of 32 minutes of application. GLO recommends using this system at least five times, and up to 10 times, to achieve desired results.
